HausFlow Chore Library
What It Is
The Chore Library is a built-in collection of template chores organized into books by category. Instead of typing every chore from scratch, parents can browse the library, pick a chore, and assign it directly — with point values, categories, and notes already set.
How It Works
The Library tab in the parent shell shows a grid of chore books. Each book covers a category of household work — kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room, outdoor, laundry, or general.
Tapping a book opens a scrollable list of template chores. Each chore shows a title, category emoji, and default point value.
Tapping a chore opens an action sheet with assignment options:
- Chore Board — add it directly to your active chore list for later assignment
- Assign to Kid — pick a specific kid and assign it now
- Family Board™ (Pro) — post it to the shared board for any family member to claim
- Routine — add it to a kid's daily routine block
All three assignment tabs (Chore Board, Assign to Kid, Family Board) also show:
- Trust & Review settings — set proof mode (none / optional / required) and approval mode (manual / auto)
- Scheduling (Pro) — set a one-time due date or recurring day-of-week pattern
Pro Collection
The Library includes a Pro Collection of additional books. On the Free tier, Pro Collection books appear locked. On Pro, tapping any Pro book opens the full chore list and all assignment options.
Starter Chores at Onboarding
During parent onboarding, step 4 offers a multi-select list of eight common starter chores. Selecting any of them seeds them as draft tasks on your board immediately — so the app is not empty on first launch.
Why It Exists
Naming chores from scratch every time adds friction. The library reduces the setup cost of building a household chore system by starting parents from a curated set of real household tasks, each one already assigned a sensible default point value and category.
The goal is less time configuring and more time coordinating.
